i believe this song is about a girl who falls blindedly in love with a guy (a falling star feel from your heart and landed in my eyes) (its left me blind) and as time goes on she is still falling head over heels for him but he doesnt care (you left me in the dark) (and in the dark i can hear your heart beat i try to find the sound but then it stops and i was in the darkness so darkness i became)and then she realizes how wrong shes been all along about this guy and she trys to get away (i took the stars from my eyes and then i made a map, i knew that some how i could find my way back) but then she sees him again and she realizes she still loves him too much to leave him but he still doesnt really care about her (i heard your heart beating you were in the darkness too, so i stayed in the darkness with you) 

I believe that this song is about a woman who fell in love with a man unexpectedly. Then after being in a relationship with him for a while she feels that he doesn't love her like she loves him. So she feels like she lives in darkness, in a dark place, where she really isn't truely happy because she doesn't feel loved and cannot be herself. She is always trying to make him happy. She is always waiting to see if he will change and start showing her he loves her and bring her out of the darkness but he doesn't. Then she trys to find the strenghth to leave the darkness by leaving him but every time he senses she is trying to leave him he shows up and appears to be in the darkness too. He lies to her and cries out to her saying he really needs her to keep her from leaving him because he doesn't want to be alone. As he continues to cry out to her, she believes that he really does love her and that something else must be to blame for keeping them both in the darkness so she just stays there with him in denial. Kind of like an abusive relationship.
